We are the story, telling...
A lot of my work is about voice — how it is found, shaped and held. I am interested in the everyday stories people carry: the dialects, memories, silences and truths that do not always get recorded, but matter deeply.
My practice sits at the meeting point of storytelling, trauma-informed facilitation and community voice. Through creative writing, spoken word, oral history, play and storytelling, I create spaces where people can explore identity, creative imagination, emotion and lived experience with care, slowness, dignity and creativity at its centre.
Drawing on over 20 years' experience across education, therapeutic practice, journalism, community engagement and the arts, I design and deliver workshops for schools, community groups, cultural organisations, heritage projects and wellbeing programmes. Themes can be tailored to the needs of participants and organisations, including identity, belonging, mental health, resilience, culture, class, heritage and social change.
Whether gathering oral histories, supporting young people to craft spoken word pieces, developing original performances or facilitating creative conversations around wellbeing and identity, my approach is rooted in curiosity, participation and authentic expression.
At the heart of my work is a belief that everyone has a story worth telling. Through writing, storytelling and creative expression, I help people find confidence in their voice and create spaces where experiences can be shared, heard and valued.
