Journalism

In this section you can access some of my published journalism articles.

My journalism career started on east London newspaper East End Life.

Post university, I fought off stiff competition and won a scholarship with News International and I later moved on to a number of regional Newsquest and Archant papers including The Camden Gazette, The Basingstoke Gazette The Richmond and Twickenham Times and The Dockland Magazine.

I spent three years working as a freelance writer and was published nationally in The Guardian, The Evening Standard and The Metro.

My work has been commended by organisation I’ve worked with including London Headway House for a head injuries spread, PAC UK, for a feature on babies born addicted to drugs and I won a London Press Award for my coverage of refuge and asylum, where I worked with the Somali community in east London on issues surrounding consumption of Khat.
