Therapeutic Practice &
Play Therapy
The foundations of my workshop and community facilitation is underpinned by my training and experience as an Integrative Holistic Play Therapist and Early Years specialist, with over a decade of experience supporting children and young people's emotional wellbeing, development and safeguarding across education, community, health and cultural settings.
My approach is grounded in attachment theory, neuroscience, trauma-informed practice and special educational needs, with a commitment to emotional safety, inclusion, meaningful relationships, participation and wellbeing across all learning and creative environments.
Alongside therapeutic practice, I integrate arts-based approaches including storytelling, sand play, visual arts, movement, music and spoken word. Creativity sits at the heart of my practice, offering accessible ways for children and young people to explore identity, emotions and lived experience while also developing imagination, creative and critical thinking, curiosity, communication and reflective learning through meaningful engagement with arts-based activities.
I am fully insured, hold an Enhanced DBS certificate and am a registered accredited member of Play Therapy UK, with safeguarding embedded throughout all aspects of my work.
This therapeutic foundation ensures that every workshop, intervention and programme is delivered in a safe, relational and trauma-aware way. Everything I do grows out of listening. My work is particularly responsive to children and young people experiencing anxiety, bereavement, trauma, neurodiversity and barriers to emotional expression or learning.
Across all contexts, my aim is to create spaces where creativity, safety and voice come together, enabling participants to develop a stronger sense of identity, belonging, confidence and self-expression.
Services
My practice combines accredited Play Therapy, therapeutically informed group work and creative participatory programmes delivered across schools, community settings, cultural organisations and commissioned local authority initiatives.
Whether working therapeutically or creatively, my practice is always grounded in emotional safety, relational practice and meaningful participation.
Play Therapy (1:1 & Clinical Group Work)
I provide accredited Play Therapy and therapeutic support for children and young people aged 4–17 across schools, community settings and private practice.
Support is available through individual 1-1 therapy and clinical group therapy, depending on the child's needs and referral pathway.
I have extensive experience supporting children and young people affected by:
-
Trauma and PTSD
-
Bereavement and loss
-
Domestic abuse and neglect
-
Family breakdown and care experience
-
Attachment difficulties
-
Neurodiversity and emotional regulation needs
-
Anxiety and emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA)
-
Complex social, emotional and behavioural needs
Sessions are child-led and draw upon creative therapeutic approaches including symbolic play, sand play, storytelling, clay, art making, movement, sensory exploration and verbal reflection.
Support ranges from short-term intervention for anxiety, confidence and adjustment difficulties through to longer-term therapeutic work for children affected by trauma, abuse, neglect, exploitation and care experience.
Clinical group programmes provide structured therapeutic support around emotional regulation, confidence, resilience, relationships and social connection while maintaining clear therapeutic goals and safeguarding frameworks.
Therapeutically Informed Group Work
I design and facilitate small-group interventions, typically with four to seven participants, which draw upon therapeutic principles without constituting counselling or clinical therapy groups.
Using structured creative activities, sessions support:
-
Emotional literacy and regulation
-
Relationship building
-
Confidence and self-expression
-
Identity and belonging
-
Communication and peer relationships
-
Collaborative problem-solving
-
Creative thinking and reflection
Where commissioned, I develop tailored intervention plans with agreed emotional wellbeing outcomes, ensuring delivery is safe, developmentally appropriate and evidence-informed.
Creative & Participatory Workshops
Alongside therapeutic provision, I design and facilitate creative workshops rooted in spoken word, storytelling, oral history, journalism, sensory arts and participatory arts practice.
These voice focused workshops are not therapy. However, they are consistently delivered through a trauma-informed, relational approach that creates psychologically safe spaces for participation, exploration and learning.
Workshops support participants to develop:
-
Voice and confidence
-
Creativity and imagination
-
Creative and critical thinking
-
Communication and collaboration
-
Reading, writing and oracy through meaningful creative expression
-
Cultural identity, belonging and lived experience
-
Engagement with language, stories and place
-
My voice-led approach is particularly effective for children and young people who may not engage through traditional literacy or classroom-based teaching, offering multiple creative entry points into learning and self-expression.
Commissioned Practice
I am available for:
-
Commissioned one-to-one Play Therapy
-
Clinical therapeutic groups
-
School-based therapeutic programmes
-
Emotional wellbeing interventions
-
Voice-led literacy programmes
-
Creative participation and engagement projects

-

-
Private therapeutic referrals
My practice bridges therapy, education, communication and cultural storytelling, ensuring emotional safety, participation and lived experience remain central to every project.
Across all work, I maintain clear safeguarding procedures, ethical practice and professional boundaries, ensuring a clear distinction between accredited therapeutic intervention and creative workshop delivery.
