Plebbing Up

Plebbing Up is an Arts Council England Developing Your Creative Practice (DYCP) funded verbatim poetry theatre project exploring class, identity, the cockney diaspora, belonging, working class richness and social mobility through authentic lived experience. 

Written and creatively led by Louise Hale, this long form project combines oral history, community research, journalism, verbatim testimony and spoken word poetry to create an original performance piece rooted in real voices and contemporary working-class narratives.  As writer, researcher and creative producer, Louise conducted interviews, developed the verbatim material and crafted the script, using storytelling as a tool to amplify underrepresented experiences and spark conversations about voice, economic displacement aspiration and cultural identity. It continues to gain momentum and  will hit theatres and non-theatre venues soon.
